BORDER FADE AND BLINDS

This tutorial was written in Paint Shop Pro 9 but any version should work fine
This came about just playing in PSP

Supplies & Filters Needed
Graphic of choice
Alf's Border FX Here

Getting Ready
Open your Graphic
Duplicate (Shift D) close original
Image, Resize
Width = No more than 425
Height = Self Adjust
With your Dropper Tool,
Select a Light color from your graphic for Foreground and a Dark for Background

HEADER

1.Working on your graphic,
Image, Add Borders 3 Pixels, Symmetric Checked in your Background Color.

2. With your Magic Wand, select border.
Selections Invert
Effects, 3-D Effects, Cutout
V+H 0, Opacity 100, Blur 10.


3. Selections Invert
Effects, 3-D Effects, Inner Bevel
Bevel 6, Width 3, Smoothness 7, Depth 2, Ambience 3, Shininess 0, Angle 315, Intensity 45, Elevation 30, Color White.

Selections, Select None

4. Image, Add Borders 20 Pixels, Symmetric Checked in your Foreground Color.

5. With your Magic Wand, select border.
Effects, Texture Effects, Blinds,
Width 2, Opacity 73, Color Black, Light from Left/Top checked

Selections, Select None

6. Image, Add Borders 3 Pixels, Symmetric Checked in your Background Color.

7. With your Magic Wand, select border.
Effects, 3-D Effects, Inner Bevel
Bevel 6, Width 3, Smoothness 7, Depth 2, Ambience 3, Shininess 0, Angle 315, Intensity 45, Elevation 30, Color White.

Selections, Select None

8.Image, Add Borders 30 Pixels, Symmetric Checked in your Foreground Color.

9.With your Magic Wand, select border.
Effects, Plugins, Alf's Border FX, Border fade III
Noise 78, Width 137

Selections, Select None

10. Image, Add Borders 3 Pixels, Symmetric Checked in your Background Color.

11. With your Magic Wand, select border.
Effects, 3-D Effects, Inner Bevel
Bevel 6, Width 3, Smoothness 7, Depth 2, Ambience 3, Shininess 0, Angle 315, Intensity 45, Elevation 30, Color White.

Selections, Select None

12. Image, Add Borders 20 Pixels, Symmetric Checked in your Foreground Color.

13. With your Magic Wand, select border.
Effects, Texture Effects, Blinds,
Width 2, Opacity 73, Color Black, Light from Left/Top checked

Selections, Select None

14. Image, Add Borders 5 Pixels, Symmetric Checked in your Background Color.

15. With your Magic Wand, select border.
Effects, 3-D Effects, Inner Bevel
Bevel 6, Width 3, Smoothness 7, Depth 2, Ambience 3, Shininess 0, Angle 315, Intensity 45, Elevation 30, Color White.

Selections, Select None

16. Image, Resize
Width 550, Height will Self Adjust.

17. Using your Selections Tool, Custom Settings
Top 100, Left 0, Right 77, Bottom 300.


18. Edit, Copy
Edit, Paste, Paste as New Image.

19. We are done with the Header now
Selections, Select None,
Add Watermark and save as JPG.

BACKGROUND

1. Now working on New Image we just made
Image, Mirror.

2. Image, Canvas Size,
1250 Width (or your preference) 200 Height, Placement, Left Middle.


3.Layers, New Raster Layer
Layers, Arrange, Send To Bottom.

4. With your Flood Fill Tool
Fill layer with your Background color.

5. Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise Gaussian, Noise 10, Monochrome Checked

6. On your Palette, Highlight Layer 1
Effects, 3-D Effects, Drop Shadow
V+H 0, Opacity 90, Blur 10, Shadow on Layer Checked


7. Making sure you are on the Shadow Layer
Use your Deform Tool and pull top and bottom Nodes a little past your graphic
This will prevent a seam in shadow


8.Layers, Merge, Merge All
Save as a JPG

Your now ready to take into Incredimail and assemble
